Step 1: Many sketches and initial ideas for a logo. I do this part by hand, as it allows me more freedom in this initial stage. (Click/tap image to zoom)
My Logo Design Process
Client: TNT Home Inspectors
Shown here is an example of my process for designing a new logo or brand, from scratch. This brand was developed in 2019 for a home inspections company based in Denver, CO:
(Closed 2021)
Step 2: Sketches brought into Illustrator, and further ideation and development occurs in vector.
Some basic color experimentation also occurs here.
Step 3: A final logo is chosen, and then I do wide-ranging color experimentation. This way I learn what works and what won’t with color use.
Step 4: Once the logo and colors are established, one of the last steps is determining how different orientations and variations of the logo would look.
Note that this only shows a simplified form of my process, there are many other smaller but equally important steps in brand development I don’t show here.
